Designing livelihood promotion strategies
Horticulture Improvement Programme: In collaboration with Department of Horticulture and State Agriculture Universities, training on improved horticultural practices was provided to 6000 farmers and improved varieties of horticultural plant distributed to them. The programme was carried in districts where program of ‘National Horticulture Mission’ was not in place.
Livestock Breed Improvement Programmes: Department of Animal Husbandry through state Agriculture Universities has distributed Sirohi breed of goats to about 12,000 goatery households in the state. It has also distributed 1000 Nirbhik breed of chicks to farmer households through Livestock Department.
Integrated Village Level Development Programmes: This is being done in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) of the state. Each KVK has adopted two villages in its work areas and interventions for soil improvement, water conservation, and adoption of improved agriculture practices are being made.
Employment Fair: In collaboration with the Employment Department of the state, District Employment fairs have been organized in all the 32 districts of Rajasthan. These fairs act as a platform for bringing the employers and potential employees together. This has so far resulted in providing direct employment to about one lakh youth.
